The U.S. and Iran exchanged new strikes

UA NEWS 12 July 2026 08:30
The U.S. and Iran exchanged new strikes

On the night of July 12, U.S. forces carried out their third attack on Iranian territory in a week, striking approximately 140 military targets with precision-guided munitions fired from fighter jets, drones, and ships. The operation was in response to yet another attack on a merchant ship attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Among the targets struck were missile and drone bases, naval facilities, ammunition depots, communications networks, and coastal reconnaissance posts. In total, over the course of three days of nighttime strikes, U.S. forces struck more than 300 targets to protect civilian shipping, and since early May have helped ensure the safe passage of more than 800 commercial vessels and 400 million barrels of crude oil.

In response, Iran announced that it had struck U.S. communications and radar facilities in Bahrain, Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, and refueling platforms in Oman, calling for compliance with the memorandum of understanding.

This was reported in a post by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on social media.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran had approached Washington with a request to resume the negotiation process. According to him, the U.S. side agreed to continue the dialogue but not to a ceasefire.

Israel has shared intelligence with the U.S. regarding Iran’s new plan concerning Trump.

Israel is waiting for a signal from Trump to strike Iran.
