US and China extend trade truce until January 10 — Anadolu Agency

The United States and China have agreed to extend their bilateral trade truce until January 10. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said this, Anadolu Agency reports.

Extension of the agreements

According to Bessent, the economic détente between the two countries, which he called the Busan agreement, was set to expire on November 10. Its validity will now be extended until January 10. The head of the US Treasury announced the decision in an interview with Fox News.

The announcement came after an unscheduled meeting between Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Washington. The report provides no other details of these talks.

Bessent said that China’s implementation of certain agreements had not been flawless. According to him, Washington outlined its expectations and wants to see China implement the agreement more fully over the coming months.
