World Bank raises Poland’s GDP growth forecast to 3.6% — RMF24

The World Bank has raised its forecast for Poland’s gross domestic product growth in 2026 to 3.6%. In June, the organization expected the Polish economy to grow by 3.1% this year, RMF24 reports.

Forecasts for 2027 and 2028

According to the new forecast, Poland’s GDP is expected to grow by 2.9% in 2027 and by 2.7% in 2028. In its June assessment, the World Bank projected growth of 2.6% in 2027 and 2.9% in 2028.

Thus, the forecast for 2027 was raised, while the estimate of economic growth rates in 2028 was lowered. On average, in 2027–2028, the Polish economy’s growth rate will stand at 2.8%, according to the bank’s calculations.

Reasons for the slowdown

The World Bank expects Poland’s economic growth to slow after 2026. Among the reasons, it cited the end of payments of funds under the KPO and slower growth in real wages, which will constrain household consumption.

At the same time, stronger economic growth in the European Union, according to the World Bank’s assessment, is expected to help maintain the growth rates of Central European economies at around 2.5% in 2027–2028.
