After Iran, Trump is planning a new war

U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters on April 13 that Washington may return to the issue of Cuba once current actions regarding Iran are concluded.

This was reported by Sky News. The White House chief noted that addressing the situation on the island remains on the agenda, but has been put on hold for now due to the priority of the Middle East crisis.

Trump called Cuba a failed state, pointing to a long period of repressive rule and the appalling living conditions of the population. He recalled the human rights violations, looting, and violence faced by Cubans, particularly families of Americans of Cuban descent. The president emphasized that this community in the U.S. actively supports his hard line toward the Cuban government.

Regarding possible economic sanctions, Trump did not rule out imposing tariffs on countries that supply fuel to the island. He noted that the situation requires separate analysis, but concrete steps will be taken only after the active phase of pressure on Tehran is concluded. Currently, Washington’s main focus is on the naval blockade of Iran and halting its nuclear program, while Russia is attempting to exploit this tension for its own purposes.

Moscow has stated that it will not cease its support for the communist regime in Cuba and intends to help the country overcome the fuel crisis, despite pressure from the United States.

As a reminder, the United States and Venezuela’s interim government have agreed to restore diplomatic and consular relations between the two countries. The U.S. State Department called this decision an important step toward stabilizing the situation in Venezuela and improving bilateral relations.
