Trump threatens EU with tariffs over Canada’s status in the EU — Anadolu Agency

In the United States, President Donald Trump said he could impose high tariffs on the European Union or halt trade with Europe in many areas. He linked the possible measures to an initiative to grant Canada associate membership in the EU if he considers the move hostile toward Washington.

Trump’s statement

After arriving in North Carolina, Trump called the initiative ridiculous and said Canada had been a bad trading partner. According to him, if the EU’s intentions are good, it will not be a problem. At the same time, he said that if the intentions are bad, the United States will impose very high tariffs. This was reported by Anadolu Agency.
