Trump extends US order on H-1B visa fee — The Hindu

US President Donald Trump has extended for another year an executive order that would establish a $100,000 fee for H-1B nonimmigrant visas. The White House announced this on Friday, September 18, The Hindu reports.

H-1B program

The federal H-1B program allows US employers, for a fee, to hire qualified workers from other countries. It can be used, in particular, to hire technology sector specialists and other professionals. The visa allows such workers to work in the United States for several years. The $100,000 fee applies to employers seeking to use this program.
