Trump to bring son on China state visit

US President Donald Trump will bring his younger son, Eric Trump, on an official state visit to China scheduled for May 14–15. This trip is significant as it occurs amid efforts to strengthen international relations.

According to Trump Organization spokeswoman Kimberly Benza, 42-year-old Eric Trump and his wife Lara will attend in a private capacity, not participating in official negotiations or business meetings. “He will be by the president’s side to mark this historic event,” Benza emphasized.

Eric Trump serves as the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, overseeing investments in real estate, golf, and blockchain. His involvement has raised criticism over potential conflicts of interest.

Previously, Donald Trump accused Hunter Biden, son of former US Vice President Joe Biden, of leveraging political connections for business gain.

Therefore, Eric Trump’s presence draws attention both due to the family’s investment ties and the possible political risks involved. It highlights the role personal elements play in US-China diplomatic relations.

This visit may signal future strategic moves by the American administration on the global stage.
