US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that his administration has safeguards in the field of artificial intelligence and that the United States is ahead of China in this technological competition. Anadolu Agency reported this on September 12.
Anthropic and the administration’s decision
Answering a question about safeguards that could help the United States win the AI race with China while also reducing Americans’ concerns about data centers, Trump mentioned the company Anthropic. According to him, the company did “something very bad” three months ago, after which it was quickly shut down.
Earlier this year, the Trump administration designated Anthropic a security risk and barred it from working with the US government. At the end of last month, a federal judge ruled that this decision was unlawful.

Trump also said that Washington has safeguards in the field of AI. In his view, the main constraint on the development of this technology in China is Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The US president insisted that the country is defeating China in the field of artificial intelligence. He called AI a phenomenon bigger than the internet and suggested that its significance could surpass the Industrial Revolution. Trump added that in about a year it may become clear whether AI is the greatest phenomenon of all, and expressed the opinion that this technology will mostly be beneficial.
