US President Donald Trump said that the United States has a significant advantage over China in the development of artificial intelligence. He also called Chinese President Xi Jinping’s planned visit to Washington on September 24 exciting. This was reported by the South China Morning Post.

Investments and relations with Canada
Trump also announced an allegedly record volume of investment in the United States — $20 trillion. He called this figure five times larger than the previous record, which, according to him, had previously belonged to China. The publication notes that analysts find it difficult to verify some of these figures, while some commitments may be declarative or easily reversible.
The US president separately said that it is easier to reach agreements with China than with Canada. Trade talks between Washington and Ottawa collapsed at the end of the previous month after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney accused the United States of bad-faith actions over “unfair and uneconomic” changes at the final stage. The American side said that Canada was backing away from its previous commitments.
