Donald Trump said he has no regrets about his decision to start a war against Iran. The U.S. president noted that he would do it again, despite the conflict’s potential impact on the midterm elections in November.
“I don’t believe in the word ‘regret.’ You can always reflect on things a little. If I had to do it all over again, I would do the same thing,” Trump said.
He also dismissed the suggestion that some of his supporters were upset and demoralized by the war.
“I don’t think they’re demoralized. I think they’re very proud that I’m not allowing Iran to have nuclear weapons,” the U.S. president said.
In addition, Trump reiterated his view that the war could end immediately after the U.S. midterm congressional elections.
“It will all be over right after the elections,” the White House chief stated, according to Fox News.
As a reminder, Iran has temporarily suspended the 10 percent levy on foreign vessels.
