Trump said that Putin and Xi promised not to supply weapons to Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the leaders of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, assured him that they would not sell or transfer weapons to Iran.
According to Trump, during a recent meeting in Beijing, Xi Jinping stated that China would “under no circumstances” provide or sell weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran. This, according to the U.S. president, also applies to Chinese companies.
“Given our relationship, I believe President Xi,” Trump said.
He also stated that he had received similar assurances from Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“Likewise, President Putin, despite the horrific war currently raging in Ukraine, told me that he would not sell weapons to Iran,” Trump wrote.

The U.S. president added that Washington does not supply weapons to Ukraine directly, but rather transfers them to NATO countries, which pay their full cost.
Trump also stated that, in his opinion, China and Russia are not involved in providing military support to Iran, as this “would not be in their interests.” He added that supplying weapons to Tehran could have negative consequences for Beijing and Moscow.
The U.S. leader wrote about this on the social media platform Truth Social.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that U.S. President Donald Trump has realized that it is Russia that is not interested in ending the war, while Ukraine is striving to achieve peace.
