Trump urged Iran to reach an agreement, warning that it would be too late otherwise
U.S. President Donald Trump called on Iran’s leadership to urgently conclude a ceasefire agreement, warning of the risk of the country’s complete destruction.
He posted the statement on the social media platform Truth Social on April 2, 2026. The post was accompanied by a video showing the destruction of a strategic bridge connecting Tehran to the city of Karaj following a recent airstrike.
The American leader emphasized that Iran’s largest bridge would no longer be usable and announced a further escalation of attacks if negotiations were rejected. Trump stressed that Tehran still had time for a diplomatic settlement; otherwise, nothing would remain of the state. The statement came amid massive strikes on Iranian infrastructure, which have already led to the shutdown of the country’s largest steel mills.
The White House views these measures as a means of coercion to stabilize the situation in the Middle East and limit Tehran’s influence in the region. Similar calls for agreements have previously been made regarding other global conflicts, particularly those involving Russia. So far, official Tehran has not responded to the U.S. president’s ultimatum, while the international coalition continues discussions on the security of maritime routes in the Persian Gulf. This is reported by European Truth, citing official sources from the U.S. administration.
In Iran, airstrikes have damaged the B1 Bridge, which connects the capital Tehran with the western regions of the country.
