Three military personnel injured in explosion in South Korea’s DMZ — The Hindu
Three officers of South Korea’s armed forces were injured in an explosion in the western sector of the demilitarized zone. They were conducting an operation south of the Military Demarcation Line. The demilitarized zone separates South and North Korea.
Evacuation of the injured
A statement by South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), released on Monday, September 21, 2026, said that two of the injured were evacuated by helicopter. The third service member was initially planned to be transported by ground transport and then also evacuated by helicopter.
