Users in Kazakhstan have lost access to Telegram
On August 13, users across Kazakhstan experienced widespread disruptions to Telegram service. According to monitoring services, users had trouble sending messages and uploading media files, with the most complaints coming from Almaty, Astana, and the Pavlodar region.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development confirmed the outages and stated that specialists are investigating the cause. At the same time, experts suggest that this was not a technical failure, but rather a restriction on access to the messaging app imposed by telecom operators.
This theory is supported, in particular, by the fact that Telegram continued to function via VPNs and proxies, and the issues were reported only within Kazakhstan.

Durov does not know what happened to Telegram and is asking X for an explanation.
