Survivors evacuated in Nepal after flash flood — The Japan Times
In Nepal, survivors of a flash flood and landslide were evacuated from affected areas by helicopter. In the city of Bidur, helicopters landed every few minutes on a football field at a military garrison, taking people to safety.
Evacuation from affected areas
Some people were carried out on stretchers, while others were supported by the shoulders. Some evacuees were able to move independently but, according to the correspondent's description, were in a state of shock. During landings, the helicopters kicked up clouds of dust.
Among those rescued was customs agent Omkar Joshi. He spent the night on top of a hill in the border town of Timure, from where he was later evacuated.

Consequences of the flood
According to The Japan Times, on Wednesday a tsunami-like wave of water and mud swept through villages and towns along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers. Hundreds of bodies were found.
