In South Africa, Elizabeth Moselakgomo’s daughter honors her mother at funeral — TimesLIVE
In Phake, Mpumalanga province, South Africa, eight-year-old Khumo paid tribute to her mother, 38-year-old Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, during a funeral ceremony. The girl spoke about memories she shared with her mother and said she would keep them as she grows older.
According to TimesLIVE, Khumo said she would look at the sky when she missed her mother and would feel her presence in her heart. At the end of her address, she said that she loved her mother and would miss her every day.
Disappearance and death
Moselakgomo was killed after she left her home in Kempton Park for a run on September 10 and did not return. Her family began searching for her, and the woman’s body was later found in the Rhodesfield area. Family members confirmed the identity of the deceased.

Investigation into the deaths of women
Moselakgomo’s death occurred amid a police investigation into a series of deaths of women in Ekurhuleni. Since July, the bodies of nine women have been found in the area. Law enforcement officers are checking whether the cases are connected, but have not established that all the crimes were committed by one person.
Minister of Social Development Dina Pule also spoke at the funeral. She said Moselakgomo’s death had drawn attention to the issue of women’s murders, called the deceased a heroine, and mentioned the uncertainty the family experienced during the search. Pule conveyed condolences from the government and said that her department’s support would not end with the funeral ceremony.
