South Africa: alleged plot to kill four employees revealed — TimesLIVE
In Kempton Park, South Africa, three men appeared before a magistrate's court in the case of the murder of racing driver Robert Wolk. According to TimesLIVE, the prosecution said Khotso Richard Mashao was allegedly hired to kill four employees of an unnamed company.
Hlanganani Shezi and Muziwezu Mtetwa also appeared before the court. They were charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, as well as possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The prosecution's version
According to the prosecution, Mashao allegedly recruited Shezi and Mtetwa to carry out the killings. When the three men arrived at the company on September 16, only Wolk was there, while the other three people they were looking for did not come to work that day.
Investigators claim that the accused then followed 41-year-old Wolk after he left the company premises. In Esther Park, a blue Volkswagen Jetta allegedly collided with his vehicle. Wolk stopped to find out the reason for the collision, after which people in the Jetta, according to the prosecution, shot him and took his mobile phone. The man was declared dead at the scene.

Arrests and hearing
The prosecution said that an Ekurhuleni municipal police task team received information from an informant that led to Mashao's arrest. Mtetwa was later arrested allegedly with the blue vehicle that investigators believe was used in the shooting.
The court was also told that the Jetta was stolen on August 15. Its owner was shot seven times in the stomach during the theft. Police had previously confirmed that the vehicle seized as part of the investigation was also linked to other serious crimes. A firearm and ammunition were also seized during the operation.
All three accused remain in custody. The hearing was postponed until Tuesday because Shezi and Mtetwa had no legal representatives and needed time for consultations. Mashao, who is represented by a lawyer, asked for the hearing on his bail application to be postponed until October 2.
