The facility covers approximately 1,100 square metres and incorporates more than 40 devices from 24 companies, serving about 300 visitors daily. The centre offers a “technology + care” model: robots prepare food, deliver meals, provide massages and traditional Chinese medicine treatments, and assist in rehabilitation and health monitoring.
Experts emphasise that technology supplements rather than replaces human care, enhancing its efficiency and comfort. The district already hosts over 300 robotics companies with a turnover exceeding 10 billion yuan (around $1.4 billion).
Local authorities plan to establish at least 10 such complexes by 2027, underscoring their ambitious approach to integrating innovation into social care.
This initiative paves the way for technologically assisted elderly care and could serve as a model for other cities and countries aiming to enhance their social welfare infrastructure.
