Poland has raised the income threshold for payments from the Fundusz Alimentacyjny

As of October 1, 2026, a new payment period from the Fundusz Alimentacyjny began in Poland. At the same time, the government significantly raised the income threshold that entitles families to receive state assistance.

It now stands at 1,665 zlotys net per person in the family per month. Previously, the threshold was 1,209 zlotys. The Alimony Fund is intended for families in which one parent is entitled to alimony but is unable to collect it from the debtor. Under certain conditions, the state assumes responsibility for payments in such situations.

At the same time, the “złotówka za złotówkę” mechanism remains in effect in Poland. If a family’s income slightly exceeds the established threshold, it does not necessarily lose all assistance. The payment amount may simply be reduced by the amount of the excess.

The new benefit period will last until September 30, 2027. Electronic applications for benefits have been accepted since July, and paper applications since August. The increase in the income threshold means that, starting in October, more Polish families who previously did not meet the program’s income criteria will be eligible for benefits.

In October, changes in Poland extend beyond social assistance. New regulations in healthcare, as well as programs for drivers, entrepreneurs, and farmers, have also taken effect since the beginning of the month. UA.News provided a detailed overview of what will change for Poles in October 2026.

At the same time, a new nationwide lung cancer screening program is launching in Poland this October, under which people in high-risk groups will be able to undergo low-dose CT scans free of charge.

Another change in October affects motorists—the Polish government has introduced a new mechanism to cap the maximum price of gasoline and diesel fuel.
