Wreckage of a Russian drone equipped with a warhead was found in Romania
In the Romanian village of Răcălu, in Tulcea County, fragments of a Russian drone equipped with a warhead were discovered. The dangerous device was neutralized by a controlled detonation.
After a report from a local resident, military personnel and specialized services arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and confirmed the presence of the warhead. It was subsequently destroyed safely.
According to preliminary expert findings, the debris likely belongs to a Russian drone used during attacks on Ukrainian port infrastructure in April of this year.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense also reported that since the start of the full-scale war, more than 100 Russian strikes have been recorded near the Romanian border. In 2026 alone, 33 attacks were recorded near the country’s borders, and drones or their debris were detected on Romanian territory on 14 occasions.
