Seoul hosts forum on city diplomacy and peace — Korea Herald
A forum on city diplomacy and peace was held at Seoul City Hall in Seoul, South Korea. As Korea Herald reports, the event was timed to coincide with the International Day of Peace. Participants discussed what Seoul needs to do to enter the top three global cities and establish the capital as a center of peace.
Forum participants
International relations experts and ambassadors took part in the discussion. Those present included Brian Myers, a professor of international studies at Tongseo University; former Vice Minister of Unification Kim Hyun-suk; former South Korean ambassador to the UN Kim Sook; and Seoul Metropolitan Council Chair Lee Seong-bae.

The forum was also attended by Ban Ki-moon, the retired eighth secretary-general of the UN; Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon; German Ambassador to Korea Georg Wilfried Schmidt; Polish Ambassador to Korea Bartosz Wiśniewski; and Swedish Ambassador to Korea Carl-Olof Andersson. Participants also included Nam Sung-wook of Sookmyung Women’s University, who holds an endowed chair.
