Anthropic IPO marketing in the US not expected before mid-October
In the United States, artificial intelligence company Anthropic may begin marketing its initial public offering no earlier than mid-October, according to informed sources. The listing is planned to be completed several days before the US midterm elections in November, Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters.
Prospectus expected at the end of September
Earlier, Anthropic could have published its IPO prospectus as soon as next week, two Reuters sources said. Publication of the prospectus is an important stage that launches the final phase of the offering. Now, according to them, the document is expected at the end of September.
Sources cautioned that the timetable and parameters of IPO preparations could still change. Some investors believe the potential listing could reach $2 trillion and become one of the largest IPOs in history. Companies often adjust their stock market debut schedules because of market conditions, regulatory reviews and other preparatory procedures.

Credit facility and banks
As part of its preparations, Anthropic is seeking to finalize a $15 billion revolving credit facility. After that, analysts, including those from banks involved in the financing, are expected to hold meetings with the company, one of the sources said. According to the source, several weeks usually pass between such meetings and the publication of the prospectus, but this interval could be shorter for Anthropic because analysts are already well acquainted with the company.
Anthropic declined to comment. According to sources, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Citi are working on the IPO. Goldman Sachs, Citi and JPMorgan did not comment on the information, while Morgan Stanley did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Anthropic's offering could take place alongside potential stock market debuts by other artificial intelligence companies, including OpenAI.
