In Thailand, a student shot and killed six people at a school and then took his own life
In Nonthaburi Province, north of Bangkok, a student opened fire at Debsirin Nonthaburi School. According to police, he shot and killed three teachers and three students before taking his own life.
Before the attack on the school, the shooter killed his grandfather and grandmother using a pistol that belonged to his grandfather. Deutsche Welle reported this, citing Thai police.
Earlier, Thai National Police spokesman Trairong Phivfan stated that 15 people were injured as a result of the shooting. Police also reported that the attacker fired 26 shots, and 34 more rounds were found at the scene.

Students, teachers, and other staff were evacuated from the school. Police, rescue workers, and medical personnel arrived at the scene. The incident occurred at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in the Bang Kruai district of Nonthaburi Province. According to district authorities, approximately 3,100 students were enrolled there and 147 teachers were employed during the 2025 school year.
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his condolences and instructed the relevant agencies to assist those affected. According to Deutsche Welle estimates, there are about 10 million firearms in circulation in Thailand—roughly one for every seven residents.
In February, a 17-year-old teenager stole a gun from the police and opened fire at a public high school in southern Thailand. One person was killed and two others were injured during the two-hour attack.
