Trump's team urged Putin not to interfere in the conflict with Iran

The U.S. has called on Russia and other countries not to support the Iranian regime amid the escalating conflict.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that Washington aims to cut off all external aid to Iran. Responding to a question about Moscow’s support for Tehran, he said, “My message to everyone is: stay away.”

According to Bessent, the U.S. intends to completely cut off the Iranian regime’s external financial and logistical channels. He noted that Washington has already begun imposing sanctions against entities that assist Tehran and plans to continue this process.

Earlier, during a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is trying to provide Tehran with the necessary assistance. Pezeshkian, in turn, thanked Moscow for its stance and described the relationship between the two countries as strategic.
