Ratko Mladić, the former commander of the Bosnian Serb Army, died in prison, where he was serving a life sentence. In the 1990s, he was charged with war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

Mladić was arrested in 2011, and in 2017, the Hague Tribunal sentenced him to life in prison. He once commanded troops and issued orders, but ultimately spent the last years of his life behind bars.
