More than 28 kg of cocaine found on vessel in Singapore waters

More than 28 kg of cocaine was found aboard a foreign commercial vessel transiting through Singapore waters. As Channel NewsAsia reports, the vessel was searched by Police Coast Guard officers after a report about suspicious packages.

Packages in filters

According to the police, the commercial vessel was inspected on August 21. During the search, officers found two packages that, according to a preliminary assessment, may have contained controlled substances.

The packages were hidden in the filters of the vessel's sea chests. These filters remove debris from the seawater taken in by the vessel.
