Ukraine Will Receive £100 Million from Britain for Patriot Missiles

The United Kingdom is allocating 100 million pounds to the PURL program to provide Ukraine with missiles for Patriot systems and other air defense capabilities as early as this winter.

“Today I am announcing a contribution of 100 million pounds to PURL to support the rapid delivery of air defense systems this winter,” said Stritting.

The British minister announced that London has fulfilled its commitment to deliver 120,000 drones to Ukraine within the year.

“We have also made significant progress in fulfilling my predecessors’ commitment to provide Ukraine with 120,000 drones this year. We have already delivered over 25,000 drones, and thousands more will arrive before the start of winter. This includes a wide range of capabilities that will help Ukraine strike directly at Russia, defend itself by taking down Russian drones, and monitor the situation on the battlefield and behind enemy lines,” he said.

According to Stritting, the United Kingdom will also continue to supply Ukraine with large-caliber artillery munitions.

“In July, we delivered the one-millionth large-caliber artillery shell to Ukraine as part of British supplies. Tens of thousands more shells will arrive in the near future—with financial support from Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden,” the British minister clarified.

Streeting emphasized that allies must provide Ukraine with maximum support ahead of a difficult winter. “Russia
must understand that we will not waver in our support for Ukraine, which continues to fight for its freedom and, ultimately, for ours,” he stated.

British Defense Minister Wes Streeting made these remarks during the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the “Ramstein” format.

The EU has approved the allocation of 3.2 billion euros for the purchase of Patriot missiles for Ukraine.

The United Kingdom is allocating 100 million pounds for a winter aid package for Ukraine’s air defense. This package will include hard-to-find interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems, which are intended to help protect the lives of Ukrainians during the winter.

Ukraine is continuing negotiations with the United States regarding the acquisition of licenses to manufacture missiles and components for the Patriot air defense systems. U.S. President Donald Trump has already responded positively to Ukraine’s proposal, but a final decision on the licenses has not yet been made.
