Ukrainians in Poland will be able to take the written driver's license exam in Ukrainian

Poland has expanded opportunities for Ukrainians who wish to obtain a driver’s license. Starting now, the written driver’s license exam can be taken in Ukrainian in a number of Polish cities.

This was reported on the Polish government’s website.

The new option is already available in cities such as:

  • Warsaw;
  • Krakow;
  • Lublin;
  • Gdańsk;
  • Białystok;
  • Tarnów;
  • Olsztyn, and others.

The decision aims to simplify the exam procedure for foreigners, particularly for the large number of Ukrainian citizens currently residing in Poland.

The theoretical exam can now be taken in Ukrainian, but the practical part is still conducted in Polish.

At the same time, candidates have the right to use the services of an interpreter to avoid language difficulties during the practical exam.

To obtain a Polish driver’s license, foreigners must be of the required age for the relevant category and confirm that they have resided in Poland for at least 185 days.

The procedure begins with creating a driver candidate profile (PKK). To do this, you must undergo a medical examination, submit the required documents to the local authority, and wait for the profile to be registered.

After receiving the PKK, the candidate can enroll in a driving school or prepare independently, taking only practical driving lessons.

After successfully passing the written and practical exams, you must pay 100 zlotys for the issuance of the license.

The document is usually issued within nine business days, but the processing time may be longer if additional checks are required.

A major reform of traffic legislation is underway in Ukraine, as provided for by Bill No. 15200.
