In Israel, the mayor of Petah Tikva prevented journalists from filming the site where an Iranian missile landed
Rami Greenberg, the mayor of Petah Tikva, who is usually on the scene of every critical incident, interrupted a live broadcast by correspondents from CNN’s Turkish bureau. The journalists were reporting from a residential area where an Iranian ballistic missile had landed, without having the necessary permits or authorization.
This was reported by CNN journalists.
A clip from the CNN Turk live broadcast, in which the mayor took center stage, was posted on Petah Tikva’s online community.
During the report, as the correspondent was reporting on the exact location where the missile had landed, Rami Greenberg burst into the frame, ordered the broadcast to stop, and demanded to see the journalists’ credentials. The Turkish journalist showed his press pass, issued in Turkey.
The mayor replied that a Turkish press pass is not recognized within the city limits under his jurisdiction, forced the journalist to stop the broadcast, and threatened to call the police.
As a reminder, Iran launched a missile attack on a major power plant in Israel, but no damage was caused to infrastructure or people.
As a reminder, the U.S. and Iran may hold talks on ending the war on March 26.
