During Yom Kippur in Israel, Magen David Adom ambulance service teams assisted 3,322 people across the country and transported 2,268 patients to hospitals. The Jerusalem Post reports, citing a statement by Magen David Adom.
Assistance during the fast
Among the patients, 368 people fainted, suffered dehydration, or felt unwell due to fasting. Another 299 people were injured while riding bicycles, scooters, and other vehicles.

MDA teams also transported 155 women in labor to hospitals. Five of them gave birth with the help of the service's paramedics.
Deaths during Yom Kippur
According to MDA, two people died in road traffic accidents. Another person was also reported to have apparently died as a result of a violent incident.
