Israeli soldier injured in vehicle-ramming attack — Jerusalem Post

In Israel, an Israel Defense Forces soldier, about 30 years old, was seriously injured in a vehicle-ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint, also known as the Beit checkpoint, on Highway 443. The victim was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Vehicle rams patrol car

As reported by The Jerusalem Post, Israeli police said that a car drove into a police patrol vehicle from the Judea and Samaria District. A police officer and a serviceman were in the vehicle during a joint operation.

The Israeli military said the attacker was killed by soldiers who were nearby. United Hatzalah medics said that, together with military medics, they provided the injured man with first aid, including respiratory support, life-saving medication, bandages and splints.

Highway closed to traffic

Highway 443 between the Maccabim checkpoint and Beit Horon was closed to traffic in both directions.

Earlier the same day, according to N12, two Palestinians allegedly attempted to ram the owner of a farm in the Hebron Hills area. Reports said the farm owner opened fire and wounded one of them in the leg. Israeli troops arrived at the scene, and the circumstances of the incident are being examined.
