In Israel, police detained Hamdan Hamdan, a 32-year-old resident of Majd al-Krum, on suspicion of contact with a foreign agent. According to law enforcement officials, several months ago the man allegedly established contact with him in order to carry out tasks within the country.

Suspicion of cooperation

As The Jerusalem Post reports, police said Hamdan knew he was in contact with a Lebanese foreign agent. Investigators claim that he asked to be assigned security-related tasks in Israel.

Police also stated that the agent attempted to purchase Israeli goods for Hamdan and transfer them to him as payment for his services. Law enforcement officials said that an indictment against Hamdan was due to be filed on Sunday.
