Two detained in Israel after fire near Burqa — Jerusalem Post

Israeli military personnel and the Shin Bet security service on Friday detained two people in the West Bank following reports of a fire near the Palestinian village of Burqa in Israel. As The Jerusalem Post reports, the military announced the detentions on Saturday.

IDF statement

According to the IDF, the detainees admitted before their arrest that they had caused the fire. In its statement, the military called them terrorists. Both were handed over to Israeli security agencies for further questioning.

Incident in Qusra

Separately, The Jerusalem Post reported on an act of vandalism in the Palestinian village of Qusra, which Ynet had reported on earlier. According to Ynet, Hebrew-language inscriptions and a Star of David were painted on the unfinished house of local resident Luis Beiruti.

The IDF noted that the house had already been attacked in August. According to Ynet, Israeli settlers entered the house, barricaded themselves inside, attacked journalists and threw stones.
