Vance defended Trump's controversial post about the Vatican

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance spoke out in defense of Donald Trump following a widely publicized post about the Pope.

On television, he urged viewers to interpret the American leader’s words as a specific brand of humor rather than an official diplomatic insult.

During an appearance on Fox News, Vance explained that the U.S. president uses social media for direct and “unfiltered” communication with voters.

This style of communication allows him to avoid media distortions and convey his message to the people without unnecessary intermediaries.

“Trump’s post about Pope Leo XIV is just a joke,” the vice president emphasized during the program.

According to J.D. Vance, there is nothing offensive in the text of the post that could provoke a serious international conflict or religious confrontation.

Separately, the vice president addressed the issue of immigration policy, which the Vatican had previously criticized.

He made it clear that the United States has no intention of changing course under external pressure, even if the criticism comes from the pontiff.
