Britain's entire fleet of attack submarines is out of service — Daily Mail

The entire Royal Navy fleet of British hunter-killer submarines is currently stuck in port and has no way of reaching the open sea to carry out combat missions.

This critical situation leaves the country completely defenseless against potential military threats and provocations from the Russian Federation.

A massive technical crisis has paralyzed the strategic submarine component of British defense.

Journalists from a reputable publication openly describe the current state of affairs as “yet another humiliation” for official London and its defense ministry.

All five of the existing Astute-class nuclear submarines are currently forced to remain idle at their bases, awaiting scheduled maintenance or urgent repairs.

Due to bureaucratic delays and a lack of capacity at shipyards, the Royal Navy has been left without its primary submarine hunters.

Leading military experts are already sounding the alarm and warning the government of the catastrophic consequences of a prolonged absence of naval deterrents.

They emphasize that the complete absence of nuclear-powered attack submarines at the Navy’s disposal makes Britain’s undersea internet and power cables particularly vulnerable to sabotage by the Kremlin.

Russian deep-sea vehicles can freely carry out sabotage against critical communications in the Atlantic.

In addition to protecting digital and energy infrastructure, attack submarines perform another vital function for the United Kingdom’s national security.

These submarines play a crucial role in protecting the large Vanguard-class submarines, which can carry Trident ballistic missiles as part of the country’s nuclear deterrent.

Without proper escort, British strategic missile carriers become easy targets for the enemy.

This is not the only serious failure of the British defense sector in recent times.

Recently, one of Britain’s flagship aircraft carriers, costing 3.5 billion pounds, broke down again and was forced to call at a Norwegian port for repairs.

Such regular breakdowns of the most expensive surface ships indicate a systemic crisis in management and funding within the Royal Navy.

The country’s military leadership openly acknowledges the extreme level of danger looming over the nation under these vulnerable conditions.

On Friday, the head of the British Armed Forces warned that the threats facing the United Kingdom are now more serious than at any time since the Cold War.

The Russian Federation continues to actively increase pressure on European borders and study weaknesses in NATO’s defense system.

This is reported by the Daily Mail.
