Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived at the White House for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. The American leader personally greeted his Chinese counterpart at the car and emphasized that this is the first official state visit by a Chinese leader to the United States in history.

Donald Trump noted that since 2016, a friendship has developed between them, one based on mutual respect and the vital interests of their peoples. During their first meeting at the White House, the two leaders plan to discuss pressing issues related to security, technology, and artificial intelligence—decisions on which could contribute to peace and prosperity for decades to come.

For his part, Xi Jinping emphasized that he had come to the United States at the invitation of Donald Trump to strengthen friendship, expand cooperation, and promote the well-being of both nations.
