Video: In Stavropol, people drank water from toilets for 100,000 rubles
In Stavropol, Russia, participants in a “Game of Thrones” contest agreed to drink water from toilet bowls for a cash prize. The winner was promised a payout of 100,000 rubles.
Footage posted on social media shows several contestants standing in front of a row of toilets, then, at the organizer’s signal, racing to gulp water from them.
According to the publication, the contest, titled “Game of Thrones,” offered a prize of 100,000 rubles (about $1,200). The winner was the man who completed the task the fastest.
The organizers clarified that the participants “drank a non-alcoholic carbonated beverage from a toilet bowl as fast as they could.”
According to The Sun, the contest sparked a wave of criticism among Stavropol residents. Some claimed that such entertainment creates a “bad image for the city.”
The publication also noted that toilets had previously been associated with Russian soldiers who, during the full-scale war, stole such fixtures from captured Ukrainian territories. This topic had previously sparked numerous memes and satirical posts.
Commenting on the video, Russian opposition journalist Alexander Nevzorov, who lives in exile, said that the clip demonstrates “what people are willing to do for money” and called what he saw revealing.
“To get their hands on a trophy toilet, orcs would kill without a second thought. But ordinary Russians are capable of a lot, too… It’s terrifying to imagine what all these people would be willing to do for a million, for example,” he wrote in a comment on the published video.

As a reminder, NASA’s satellite system has again detected fire hotspots in the waters of the Sea of Azov. A fire was also recorded at facilities at the “Kavkaz” railway station in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
In Russia’s Moscow Region, fires broke out following the activation of air defense systems.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, in coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate and the State Border Guard Service, struck one of Rosneft’s largest oil refineries. A key industrial facility in the southern Volga region was also targeted.
