Vitkoff and Kushner arrived in Moscow
U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Moscow. The American delegation is set to hold talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin regarding an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Russia’s Interfax reported that a private jet, presumably carrying Witkoff and Kushner, landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport.
The Russian state news agency TASS released a video of a motorcade that was allegedly prepared for the American representatives’ arrival.
According to an unnamed source cited by the agency, a U.S. Boeing C-32A special-purpose aircraft departed from Miami International Airport and made a stopover in Helsinki.
The plane then continued its flight toward Russia and crossed into Russian airspace.
According to FlightRadar24, the government-owned Boeing C-32A was in the air and crossed Russia’s air border over the Gulf of Finland. Around noon, the plane flew over the St. Petersburg area.
The Boeing C-32A is a modified version of the Boeing 757. Such aircraft are typically used to transport the U.S. vice president, the first lady, the secretary of state, and other high-ranking officials.
It was previously reported that on September 5, Witkoff and Kushner are scheduled to hold talks with Vladimir Putin in Moscow, and on September 6, they are set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
The U.S. representatives arrived in Russia amid Washington’s efforts to resume negotiations aimed at ending the war.
Meanwhile, Kyiv had previously called for a mutual ceasefire during the American delegation’s visit.
The last round of trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S. took place on February 17–18, 2026, in Geneva.
The next meeting was scheduled for March 5 in Abu Dhabi, but it was postponed after the outbreak of war between the U.S., Israel, and Iran.
Now, the arrival of Witkoff and Kushner in Moscow could mark a new attempt to break the deadlock in negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
