Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will not attend the EU and European Political Community summits in Denmark on October 1–2, reportedly due to health problems following the assassination attempt.
This was announced by a representative of the Slovak government apparatus, Alexander Kováč, as reported by aktuality.sk.
“The Head of Government of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, apologized for his non-participation in the informal European Council summit and the European Political Community summit due to health problems related to the assassination attempt,” Kováč explained.
In addition to attending the summits in Copenhagen, Fico was also scheduled to hold a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, but those talks were also canceled.
It's worth noting that Fico has been speculating about the assassination attempt on himself in response to criticism from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
