Ukraine has stated its readiness to assist NATO member states, in whose airspace Ukrainian drones have been detected, in defending their airspace. This was noted by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte while commenting on the incidents in question.
Zelenskyy announced his intention to provide assistance to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, and also noted that Ukraine would help Romania as well, even though no Ukrainian drones have been detected there.
"We will prepare experts. Dates have already been set for our experts to travel there and share their experience. Just as we did in the Middle East, where we helped prevent the challenges they faced due to drones," the president stated.
"We will help with both interceptors and our expertise," Zelenskyy added.
Mark Rutte, responding to this question, urged people to bear in mind that Russia, not Ukraine, is responsible for any military incidents.
"Let’s not forget how it all began—with Russia’s reckless aggression against Ukraine, which started in March 2014 and then continued with a full-scale attack in late February 2022. So when something like this happens, it is Russia that is behind it. Everyone in NATO is aware of this, and we know that Ukraine will do everything to minimize the consequences," he emphasized.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement at a joint press conference with the NATO Secretary General in Kyiv, according to a correspondent for "EP."
