Zhuravlev threatened to go on an indefinite hunger strike over his extradition to Germany

On Thursday, September 24, the defense is expected to receive the official ruling from the court in the Croatian city of Pula regarding the extradition of Ukrainian citizen Volodymyr Zhuravlev to Germany in connection with the case involving the sabotage of the “Nord Stream” pipelines. In light of the court’s decision, Zhuravlev intends to go on an indefinite hunger strike.

Extradition Ruling and Indefinite Hunger Strike 

"Tomorrow, the defense team will receive the official ruling from the Croatian court in Pula regarding the extradition of Vladimir Zhuravlev to Germany. Also tomorrow, Zhuravlev will announce his indefinite hunger strike in protest of this decision, which disregarded the ruling of a Polish court in a similar extradition case,” the statement said.

Appeal of the Verdict

Zhuravlev’s attorneys are already preparing an appeal against the court’s decision. 

"The law firm 'Katerynchuk, Moore & Partners,” whose client is Volodymyr Zhuravlev, “categorically disagrees with this verdict and is preparing to appeal the decision in the appellate court and before international judicial bodies,” the firm stated.
