Visa and Access Bank launch Visa Accept in Ghana — MyJoyOnline
Visa and Access Bank (Ghana) Plc have launched the Visa Accept service in Ghana, enabling micro, nano and small businesses to accept contactless card payments directly on smartphones without additional equipment. MyJoyOnline reports.
Accepting payments through the app
To connect, a merchant must create a profile in the Access Bank mobile banking app. After that, they can start accepting payments within a few minutes. Customers will be able to pay using a contactless card or mobile wallet, scan a QR code, or use a secure payment link.
Funds will be credited to the merchant's existing bank account almost in real time. According to Visa, transactions will be protected in line with the company's standards and will include support for disputes and refunds.

Access for small businesses
Visa noted that the use of digital payments in Ghana is growing, but accepting cards has remained difficult for the smallest merchants because of the cost and complexity of traditional POS infrastructure. Visa's head in Ghana, Fabrice Konan, said the service is intended to make digital payments more accessible to micro and small businesses.
Access Bank (Ghana) Plc Executive Director for Retail Banking and Small and Medium Enterprises Eugene Okansi said that the bank became Visa's first partner in the country for this solution. Visa Accept is already available to eligible Access Bank Ghana customers; they can register through the bank's mobile app or at a branch.
