Guitarist Brian May says Queen will no longer tour — Rolling Stone
Guitarist Brian May said that Queen no longer plans to return to touring. As Rolling Stone reports, the last Queen + Adam Lambert concert took place on February 14, 2024, at Tokyo Dome in Japan and concluded the Rhapsody world tour.
In an interview with The Times, the musician said he made the decision to stop touring about 18 months ago. According to him, a close family member died during a trip to the United States, but he was unable to return home briefly because of the touring schedule.
May noted that he loves playing and traveling, but touring requires sacrificing freedom. He added that he wants to devote time to his wife, actress Anita Dobson, his grandchildren and astrophysics, and believes that 50 years of touring may be enough.

Fatigue from life on the road
In September 2025, May had already spoken about exhaustion from touring life. At the time, he explained that he does not like waking up in a hotel room feeling isolated, especially when concerts prevent him from being close to his family. At the same time, the musician stressed that he still wants to perform and explore new formats.
Possible immersive project
Drummer Roger Taylor said that Queen is considering the possibility of creating a large-scale immersive show. He said that after visiting the Sphere venue last year, he drew a sketch for such a project. According to Taylor, implementing this idea would now require the use of artificial intelligence, about which he has serious reservations.
The members of Queen + Adam Lambert continue with individual projects. Taylor recently released the solo album Violence Insane in a Beautiful World, while Adam Lambert presented the album Adam in July. Queen archival projects are also being prepared, including the concert film Queen Budapest, filmed on July 27, 1986.
