Usyk met with a legend of the Spanish national team at the 2026 World Cup final
Former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk was one of the star guests at the 2026 World Championship final. During the tournament’s decisive match, the Ukrainian met with legendary Spanish national team defender Sergio Ramos.
The meeting took place in the VIP section of the stadium in New Jersey. Usyk and Ramos greeted each other warmly, shook hands, and exchanged a few friendly words.
“Great to see you. We’re rooting for the same team. Go, Spain!” the Ukrainian boxer captioned the video.
Usyk had previously noted that, among the players on the Spanish national soccer team, Sergio Ramos is the one who impresses him the most. The legendary defender has played over 180 matches for the national team and has become one of the symbols of “La Furia Roja.”
Oleksandr Usyk attended the final match with his wife, Kateryna. Other well-known Ukrainians were also present in the stands.
In particular, Andriy Shevchenko, president of the Ukrainian Football Association, posed for a photo with the boxer. Also among the guests at the final was Ukrainian national team soccer player Oleksandr Zinchenko, along with his wife, Vlada Sedan.
Zinchenko, like Usyk, supported the Spanish national team in the decisive match of the 2026 World Cup.
This was reported by Sport RBC.UA, citing Oleksandr Usyk’s official Instagram page.
As a reminder, authorities in the U.S. state of New Jersey were outraged by FIFA’s plans to sell the turf from the 2026 World Cup final. The state’s governor called the initiative unacceptable.
The Spanish national team forward criticized the ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup final.
