LG announced AI features for its air conditioner and air purifier
LG has announced the features of its DualCool AI air conditioner and PuriCare AeroBooster air purifier, which are designed to automatically adjust cooling and air purification. This is detailed in a sponsored article by Channel NewsAsia, produced with the company’s support.
According to LG, the DualCool AI air conditioner uses radar sensors to detect movement and the presence of people in the room. Based on this data, it adjusts the cooling intensity, fan speed, and airflow direction. The Dual Vane feature distributes cool air over a wider area when there are more people in the room or when faster cooling is needed.
The Window Open Detection feature reacts to temperature changes after a window is opened and switches the unit to energy-saving mode. In the 9K and 12K single-split models, the AI kW Manager feature in the LG ThinQ app allows you to set a target limit for electricity consumption. Humidity control is also available on select models. The Auto Clean+ feature dries the heat exchanger after cooling is complete, which, according to LG, can help prevent the growth of mold, bacteria, and odors.

The PuriCare AeroBooster air purifier, according to the manufacturer, draws in air from all sides using a 360-degree purification system. A pre-filter traps larger dust particles and debris, after which the air passes through a HEPA filter to capture finer particles. LG claims that the system is capable of removing up to 99.999% of particles as small as 0.01 micrometers.
The device features a PM1.0 sensor to monitor fine and coarse dust, and the AI+ function tracks air quality in real time and adjusts the fan speed. According to LG, airflow in Pet Mode is 76.9% stronger than in standard mode, and the Photocatalytic Pet Filter helps reduce pet odors. The company also claims that UVnano technology reduces the number of bacteria on the surface of the fan blades by more than 99.99%.
