Germany has become the largest supplier of tractors to Ukraine, surpassing the United States
From January to April 2026, Germany became the largest supplier of tractors to Ukraine, surpassing the United States in terms of import volume.
This is according to data from the State Customs Service.
In the first four months of the year, Ukraine imported $293.4 million worth of tractors, which is 0.3% less than during the same period in 2025.
The largest volume of equipment came from Germany—$62.7 million, accounting for 21.4% of total imports. The United States ranked second with $61.9 million, or 21%, while China came in third with $53.2 million and an 18.1% share.
For comparison, last year the United States was the leader in tractor shipments with $62.5 million, while Germany supplied equipment worth $52.2 million.
At the same time, exports of Ukrainian tractors nearly doubled during this period—to $3.14 million, up from $1.63 million a year earlier. Belgium was the largest buyer, accounting for 23.6% of shipments.
For the full year 2025, Ukraine imported $845.7 million worth of tractors, which is 7.9% more than in 2024.
Germany transferred three cogeneration units to Ukraine for the Chernihiv region, which are intended to ensure a stable supply of heat and electricity.
As part of an emergency energy support package, Germany provided Ukraine with the first two cogeneration units to supply heat and electricity to residents of Kyiv.
