Ukraine's grain and oilseed harvest could exceed 83 million tons
The Ukrainian Grain Association forecasts the 2026 harvest of grains and oilseeds at 83.6 million tons, which will exceed last year’s figure of approximately 80 million tons.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Grain Association.
According to experts, under favorable conditions, agricultural exports in the 2026/2027 season could rise to 50.8 million tons, compared to 42.3 million tons in the current marketing year.
At the same time, the association emphasizes that the realization of such a scenario will depend on the logistics and security situation. Further attacks on transport and energy infrastructure could negatively impact export opportunities and the financial condition of farmers.
According to the forecast, the wheat harvest in 2026 will amount to 22.8 million tons, barley to 5.2 million tons, and corn to 32.1 million tons. The largest growth is expected in sunflower production—up to 13.3 million tons compared to 11.1 million tons a year earlier.
The harvest is also projected to yield 3.4 million tons of rapeseed and 4.9 million tons of soybeans.
The UGA notes that a significant portion of the sunflower, rapeseed, and soybean harvest will be processed domestically, which will contribute to the development of Ukraine’s processing industry and increase the added value of agricultural products.
