At the UN, Iran accused Ukraine of being an accomplice to the aggression by the United States and Israel
Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, cynically stated that Tehran considers Ukraine an accomplice to military aggression due to its deployment of anti-drone specialists to the Middle East.
In a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the diplomat emphasized that the deployment of hundreds of Ukrainian experts is evidence of material and operational support for the use of force against a sovereign state. Tehran claims that such actions by Ukraine fall under international liability for aiding and abetting unlawful acts.
At the same time, Iravani categorically rejected accusations of a threat to international security due to cooperation between Russia and Iran in the field of UAVs. He called the Ukrainian side’s statements baseless and aimed at diverting attention from the conflict against Iran. The representative of the Islamic Republic also emphasized that strikes on civilian infrastructure for the purpose of economic pressure could be considered war crimes. In this way, Iran is attempting to shift responsibility for the escalation in the region onto Ukraine and its Western partners.
Earlier, Trump stated there was a “big difference” between strikes on Iran and Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.
Trump authorized arms shipments to Saudi Arabia.
Negotiations with Iran forced the U.S. to postpone the strikes.
