Ukrainian miner caught stealing power for underground crypto farm ⚡
Police in the Zhytomyr region have uncovered an illegal Bitcoin mining farm operated by a 41-year-old man from Kyiv. Investigators found that he had illegally connected to the power grid, bypassing electricity meters and consuming more than 365,000 kWh over nine months without paying.

The total damage to the energy company is estimated at 2.29 million UAH (around $58,000). During searches, officers seized dozens of mining devices, computers, and tools used to block electricity monitoring systems.
The suspect now faces criminal charges for large-scale electricity theft, which could result in up to three years in prison if convicted.
