Lithuania will seek legal assistance from the United States in the Epstein case

Lithuanian Prosecutor General Nida Grunskienė stated that the country is preparing a request to the United States for legal assistance in connection with an investigation into human trafficking linked to convicted American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

This was reported by LRT.

Lithuanian law enforcement agencies are currently conducting an intensive investigation, during which they have already interviewed about 20 people. All the information gathered is being analyzed to prepare an official request to the U.S. side.

Lithuanian law enforcement agencies are seeking to establish all the circumstances of the criminal activity and identify possible links between the individuals involved in the case and local entities. In addition to international cooperation, the Prosecutor General has urged potential victims or witnesses with relevant information to contact investigators directly. This investigation is part of broader efforts to combat international human trafficking networks, which may have involved citizens of various countries, including Russia and other states in the region. Currently, officials are not disclosing details about the individuals who have already testified, but they emphasize the importance of an “intensive investigation” to establish the truth. The process is being coordinated at the highest levels of the Prosecutor General’s Office and with international partners.

Recently, the U.S. Department of Justice released FBI documents related to allegations of sexual assault against U.S. President Donald Trump, which were previously absent from the case files of financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Previously, CNN journalists analyzed documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice in the case of the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and discovered significant gaps in the archives.

It is known that Jeffrey Epstein committed his worst crimes between 1999 and 2000, but this information was deliberately not published online. Internet sleuths discovered that files from those years were concealed, files that could have revealed the scale of his activities and network of influence.
